A 40,000 application increase in 1 year. Holy Moly! That explains the point creep.

That is probably reflected in other states as well. So much for hunter numbers decreasing in the western states...
I hope I draw my tag because I have a lot more than that tag invested int hat trip so far. I guess we will see.

I think a big thing is that applicants don't want to foot the cost of a hunting license every year for just a preference point and jumped into the draws.

Perhaps I am wrong but I could be right.

In regards to the Elk I would think that there are a TON of applicants applying to the southwestern areas that went from OTC to a draw. That might explain some of it.

Good points - I sure didn't like spending $100 for a mule deer point this year.

The folks buying points should be reflected in both 2019 and 2020. We apply for the points...
