Application opens tomorrow. Good luck to every one in the draws. If you are putting in for limited remember to enjoy the process and memories. And also remember that if you don't shoot a giant buck/bull with all your points that's okay too. Just always ask you self if you put you self in the best position possible to be successful, then things should line into place with a little luck. Oh, and also remember that you will never be able to hunt the area again due to point creep and unwanted rise in resident population.

PS due to rise in population and recent gun control issues all residents who moved here within the past 5 years cannot apply until April 4th, 2018. This also applies to all non residents who plan to hunt OTC. Maybe by then CO will get things figured out :)

Just kidding, but in all seriousness enjoy the process, scout like hell, and don't miss in the heat of the moment.

I'll be cashing in for elk, and points across the board for the rest.

Just finished applying for all the points I want (Deer, Antelope & Moose). Still have not made up my mind on elk hunting. New system was very simple and smooth.

Simple and smooth once you figure it out.

I also got a err message that I had a problem with my application payment. I took a look at everything and it was fine and decided to wait a while. I then got a email telling me that all was OK and to expect another email with my receipt.

It appears that there are still some bugs in the system to get ironed out.

Quick question about non resident point buying/applying. Last year was my first year and had to float the $ etc. etc. got my points. I read in the big game brochure that if you purchase a 2017 fishing license before March 31st that it waives the point fees. Is this true and does it change the process of how you have to apply? Thanks in advance

It’s true... I wonder how many guys will overlook this with all the frenzy of not having to front the tag fees but will get nailed with a $40 PP fee per species?

The fact that you have a fishing license should be in the system and show that you don't need to pay the PP fee.

I know that if you look at the products that you have in your account on the new account system it will shot that fishing license.

is that for residents? non-residents?

just curious where the break would be for non-res... not sure what a non-res fishing license costs...? so what are we talking for savings? ie...2 species vs....6 etc...?

I think a non resident fishing license is $56. So at $40 per species PP fee without a previous years license you should buy it if your applying for two or more species.

A non resident fishing license will cost you $56. Preference point fees if you didn't purchase a 2017 license, are $40 per species, plus the $10 habitat fee, and the $3 application fee.
I bought a NR fishing licence this year for $56, and then got points for deer, elk, antelope, sheep, goat and moose for $28 additional.
