Archery season for black bears opens this Friday for most of the state, is anyone going to give it a shot or is there too much snow everywhere still? I haven't got a chance to do any scouting yet but I figure I will go out this weekend and carry the bow around anyway, might be on snowshoes though. Has anyone spotted a bear or at least some tracks? I talked to a G&F biologist a couple weeks ago that had seen some tracks so they have been out for a while now.
Anyone trying for bear with the stick and string this weekend?

20th. But then its on!!! I will be going for a spring black bear with the bow!!
Last year I was so close both in the spring and in fall, but just never got a chance to connect. I hope this year a bit more patience and a quieter stalk will be on my side!!

Ohhh, got the combo licence, archery stamp, and bear tag!!!!. Went out to look...how am I supposed to hunt in this wet white crap all over the place? Its like a flock of albino pterodactyls took a crap while flying over the mountains. ehhh.
