Any Sheds?

The wife and I found two small elk sheds hiking down in southern NM on Sunday.

Thought about getting out today but the weather made my mind up for me, so I think I will give it one more week before I go have a look. Probably still a few weeks out anyway until the elk drop, expect for the big guys.

Elk Trout... great day quite dreamy. Here's a day out with my daughter. Im at 35 sheds for the year so far. First elk trip this weekend.

I didn't find any elk sheds yet but I did find a decent matching whitetail set behind the house today.

Still waiting on April 1 so the roads open back up and the gates are unlocked. Those elk have been undisturbed and haven't seen a human since Dec 1!!!

I was able to grab two last week.

this 5 pointer was at 9200 feet down in unit 34.



The other was a 24 inch long spike mulie shed that was a few years old. Cracked, white and had just a small crab claw perfect for back scratching.

My son and I picked up 5 back on the 1st of April while turkey hunting. Hopeful get up higher in a few weeks and maybe get a few elk sheds.

Prices are definitely up. I took all my old white horns in, and a few brown ones and picked up $850. Now I just need to go out and find about 20 fresh brown elk horns and I will be set.

I have always been the same way, but with spending a small fortune poring a concrete slab this weekend the $ will be a welcome sight to my wife.

$13 for brown elk and $10 for brown deer.
