I don't use the power matic ones but I've been wearing Asolo boots for years. I've hunted, climbed, hiked, backpacked, you name it in them! They are pretty durable in my opinion. My current ones I've been wearing for about 5 years.

the only footing problems I have had with them were usually my own fault:) but have never thought the soles of my boots were the problem

I pretty much only wear asolos. I haven't tried the powermatics but I'd def buy a pair. You can't go wrong.

I owned a pair of Asolo's and also highly recommend them. Wore them for 5-6 years hunting and work. Basically wore the soles out and they ended up stinking was the only reason I got rid of them. Very comfortable. Good durable boots!

I have a buddy that wore Asolo as Army SF and now that he is a civilian it is all he wears. He swears by Asolo.
Most if not all SF gets issued asolos. That's gotta say something. The only thing I would suggest is you keep two pairs of boots. One goretex, one not. If those goretex get wet, ( sweat, water over top, hurricane rains) they're going to stay wet for a while. While something not goretex you can hang in camp overnight and have them be dry.
