Any Milwaukee Fisherman?

I have to be in Milwaukee and Chicago for a week this September (11th-17th) for work. I was hoping to fish a time or two while I was there. Would love to catch a salmon or one of the big browns in Lake Michigan. Anyone have advice for that area that doesn't involve an expensive charter? I prefer DIY but I would be willing to pay if that's necessary to catch fish.

What brings you to Milwaukee? I am about 20 miles from downtown.

I don't think there is a whole lot of good fishing from shore/break walls on Lake Michigan in Milwaukee. There is some good shore fishing farther north in Port Washington and Sheboygan.

I am attending a trade show in Chicago but have several customers in the Milwaukee area that haven't seen a face from our company in years. I thought it was a good chance to drive up to see them.
