The weather in Reno sucks. It?s been so warm here it?s been tough coyote hunting. We are getting alittle weather now but it won?t last long and back to the mid 60?s.

Planning a lion hunt next weekend but if we don?t get some snow it will tun into coyotes again. Anyone having luck in the warm weather?

I haven't been for a few days. I have a local contest I got recruited for coming up this weekend so I'm looking forward to seeing some new country. Last 2 I called in on ground I can hunt hung up at a pretty good distance, past 350yds. I'm betting they are coyotes what were with the group when I called in several and only got one shot and got educated. They pace, sometimes bark, and sit down out there but won't commit. I'm taking the AR and my long range 264 win mag both along this weekend. If I start seeing yotes hang up like that I'll start carrying both to the stand. I'm not comfortable past 300 and much more comfortable inside 250 with my AR. The 264 is just getting warmed up there!

Good luck on the hunt. We have been having seasonal to cool temps in the Midwest. Today hit 50 but Saturday shows a high in the mid teens.

We're going to set some traps this coming next 2 weeks for bobcats and coyotes.
Have a new foxpro inferno coming by end of week and can't wait to try it out. We get to call some coyotes that don't get called very often if at all.
Temps have fallen some here and just a skiff of new snow.
Had a wolf sighting near where we'll be setting traps and calling but I'm pretty sure it has moved through, we're in the predator zone.

Good luck with that contest.

We are going to start in a new spot I haven’t called before. I gave up on the electronic callers and went back to hand calls. I think they are used to hearing the same old sounds from elect callers. I can change things up much better when I’m doing the calling.

I missed a coyote in our field Sunday morning with my 300 mag. I had been up for 3 hours, with a bellyfull of coffee, and had the jitters bad. Guess the crosshairs weren't as steady as I thought.

I like the Primos hand calls. I do have a Alfa Dog E caller but it stopped working recently. Not sure if I’m going to bother replacing it.
