Any luck in D5?

I am taking my son hunting in D5 this weekend and can't decide whether to go up to Lake Alpine (Jackson Canyon)area, or try to hunt a lower elevation around Blue Canyon (White Pines). Any thoughts, information, hints, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Some of you might remember his first buck from last year, well that gave him the bug and he is driving me nuts to get another one.

I was up hunting the 8000+ elevations last weekend. The deer are still up there.

Well, we hunted hard for three days in Underwood Valley and Jackson Canyon and nothing! We didn't see a single deer. There were naturalists and hikers everywhere!!! I have never seen the trails so crowded with people and dogs during deer season.

Try getting away from the roads and trails. I know of 2 big bucks that were killed in the last week up high, real high.
