Any gardeners on here?

I'm not in a position to deal with a garden this year but would like to try using wicking tubs. I've watched quite a few videos on youtube from "gardening with leon". The guy is a hoot. You put a lot of work up front but the amount of time you spend watering/fertilizing etc. is reduced with this method. Anyone try one of these wicking tubs?

My wife wants me to try those tubs for her dad, so he can grow some tomatoes on his deck back in western PA. I sorta rolled my eyes cuz I grow my stuff in long rows, old school; but I decided to take it seriously and give it a go to help my FIL. We'll see how this project goes.

We need a week above 50° to get this dang asparagus moving...
