I think it will depend on what time of the season you went. Almost no public land. Over half of the public land has no access. A couple of the walk in areas do not allow antelope hunting. They are for birds and late season cow elk. With that small amount of land I would expect antelope to vacate the public land after the first few shots. That being said you can not kill one with out a tag, but there is a reason there are leftover tags in this unit. The reason is very poor access to public hunting land.
I will be able to tell you as my son and I have tags year and after the research I have a plan. Chances will be small but the reward will be great if we can manage to fill a tag.
