Sent a few email to the game and fish in Wyoming and have not got a response yet so I'm reaching out. Hopefully we will have some succes on our 2017 antelope hunt. I'm just wondering what to do once we harvest. Do you have to check the animal at a station or website? Or do you just place the carcass tag around one of the bags where the meat is and your good to go?

I always place the tag on the quarter or largest piece of meat with the proof of sex on it. Then get it cooled down asap.

The 1 time I saw a game warden in WY I had an antelope over my shoulders and a tag in my pocket that I has notched but hadnt filled out cuz I didnt have a pin with me or anything to tie it to the antelope. Then i didnt know he was the game warden and was being kinda short with him asking about the ranch I was on cuz I thought he was looking for a place to hunt. He didnt give me any problems and even helped me load my antelope!

Just be sure to stop at any G&F checkpoint, even if you are just on your way to the hunt, or if you didn't tag out. Keep your lic. handy, and not packed away for the drive home. You may be contacted by mail or on-line for a harvest survey after the season closes.

Put it in the meat bag, and go about your way.
I think you need to keep the sex organs of your kill unless you have an "Any Antelope" tag. That's what a warden told me about the Doe/fawn tags. You don't have to attach the tag to the animal during transport. Same with other species of big game. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Right there. Evidence of sex must accompany the animal, not have to be attached anymore. The tag must be filled out and signed immediately then during transport you can have the tag in your pocket or riding in the vehicle with the carcass. Get your antelope cooled down asap, over ice or something. Have evidence of sex either attached to the animal or in a bag with the meat. Any antelope tags do not need evidence of sex for the animal. If you pass a check station you must stop regardless of if you were successful or not. You do not have to find a check station just stop if you pass one while traveling.

Fastest way to get it to cool down is to do a quick quarter right where it lays. Don't even have to gut the thing, and don't drag them very far, you will wear the hide off fast. Also keep as much hair off the meat as possible.

What do the check stations look like. Do the game wardens just move to a location and set up or is an actual building.

I usually see them set up on the side of the road and they'll have a "Game check station" sign or something like that
