This is my first time on this forum and thought maybe I could get some info. Planning to hunt some goats in with a few of my buddys in 2016. I have hunted them in eastern Wyoming once (new castle) and had success but it was like opening day here in wisco. We will have 4 points for the draw and want to find some public land that isn't so crowded. we would be willing to pay a trespass for private access any suggestions.

If you go to the Wyoming G&F website look under draw odds you'll find every unit you can draw with 4 points or less, then just reference those units to BLM maps to see the available public land in the unit. 4 points should get you into the central part of the state where a great hunt would be very easy to accomplish.
Good luck!

Thanks for the speedy response. Thought I would start now for next year. I have learned over the last four years of hunting out west that if your a day late or a dollar short you will lose every time!

With 4 pts you can land about any zone i would go where the most public land and biggest bucks are. I wouldnt worry about looking for private ownership.

I really appreciate all the info I think the deadline for pp is coming up real soon. This year the next point will be #4. I get ehj and will start looking at maps and stats. Again thanks fellas! Just always seems what ever I hunt in wy (mulies/cow elk) if you don't have an"IN" you have to scar up what ever you can. That is the big reason my friends and I have waited so long to go antelope hunting out there again.

The deadline to buy points is the end of sept. With 5 points you will have alot of good options. Look through the draw stats and make a list of units that took 4-5 points last year. I think any hunt that takes 4+ points would be a good hunt.

If you want to get away from the crowds, don't go opening weekend. I always wait until the middle of the season or later. I have always hunted public land and when we go we hardly see another hunter. There are still lots of antelope and they're usually settled down somewhat from the opening weekend barrage.
