I flew a Supercub to the end of the Alaska Peninsula recently. Spectacular country and quite a variety of views and wildlife. Saw lots of walrus, fox, brown bears, one wolf and tons of whales, sea lions etc. Wolverine tracks but no wolverine in them.
The plan was to go back and shoot a brown bear but I just don't know what I'd do with another bear hide, so I'm not planning on going back this spring. Great trip though! Flew to the far end of Unimak Island. Even stopped and picked up some glass fishing floats!

We flew in some cabin building supplies and some guides/carpenters. Interesting and challenging flying at times, but fun!

Those floats are cool. Where are they from?
They are from Japanese fishing nets and wash up on beaches along the Aleutians and Alaska Peninsula, and other places. This group was mostly from the north side (Bering Sea side) of Unimak Island. They are getting harder to find than they used to be. When I lived out that way in the mid-80's I found so many that I'd use them as targets for my .22, not anymore.

Matt, it's gotta be better than watching the braves! Sorry I couldn't resist :)
Haha. You're right my friend...you are right! Sometimes the truth hurts but we all need to hear it, so go ahead give it to me. I called today asking the braves ticket office about buying some tickets. When I decided on my seats I asked the lady "what times does the game start"? And her response was "what time can you get here"? Lol...man I turned it on the other day to watch for a second, somebody hit a foul ball behind 1st base. That ball rattled around for 30 minutes before somebody made there way down to pick it up. There is nobody at those games. Reminds me of back when I was a kid in the early 80's when they were so bad. Once when I was a youngin we had 4 tickets to the braves game. We had to stop at the Dollar Store to get some sunscreen or something, can't remember. My granddaddy left the tickets on the dash with the windows rolled down. When we came out of the store we forgot he had left them on the dash. We were really surprised when we got back to the car and looked on the dash...you guessed it there were now 8 tickets on the dash...lmbo.;) rotflmbo!

I didn't know they found them there, that's cool. I've never landed an airplane on those beaches. I flew probably 700 miles of beach but didn't land a lot. I saw several dead walrus that already had their tusks removed, a couple that had brown bear on them, so I didn't stop to check for tusks.
In all that flying, not even one bikini girl to be seen on any of the beaches. I'll keep looking though!
