Thanks Wade.

I got invited on the hunt by a hunter that I met over on BGH when I gave him some advise on a Utah hunt that he had. I also found out that for the price of a single guided hunt here in the states you can bad 6 or 7 animals over there.

It doesn't get real expensive until you decided to bring them home but I could of cut my cost way down if I would of done euro's on them.

I am a member on a African hunting forum and learned of the problems that can arise with importing trophies. The paper work needs to be correct and one omission can cause weeks of delay. That along with some that try and do their own importing and the mistakes that happen even after they have done it a couple of times.

I hired a importer to take care of all my trophies. They contacted the safari operator along with the company that was doing my dip and pack. They made sure that everything that was needed was done correctly so that there wouldn't be any problems along the way. With them doing it everything sailed right through the customs and USFW office in LA and they only took 3 1/2 months to get to my taxidermist here in the states from the time that they were dropped off at the dip and pack company in South Africa.

Granted it cost to hire the importer but they took all the worry out of getting my trophies home

Congratulations! You certainly have an awesome wall full of incredible trophies. They sure do make me wish I could go on an African safari. To be able to take so many trophies in one trip is a dream for most hunters.
