It will make a big difference in your range of focus even when looking thru demo/shelf binos.

Without being a bino "snob" I dont think you would notice much a difference between the talons and vipers. The talons are one of my favorite binos from vortex.

Ohh the horror! its fun shopping. No fun spending. I have never used the zeiss but im sure you cant go wrong with any of your choices.

One thing to keep in mind is that extra 50 can go toward a bino-tripod adapter or a new bino harness to keep those shiny new binos safe from dirt/debris while hunting.

I love my Minox 10x42s I bought a few years ago.

I really like the Vortex warranty though, and might buy the Talons if I were buying today. The warranty was one of the reasons I went with Vortex when I bought my spotting scope this year.

FYI - Minox also has a "no fault" warranty.

Sounds like just the original owner gets the lifetime warranty but you could always call them to see.
