Negative only used the adjustment dial in the middle.

I think I am torn between the zeiss terra and vortex talon

But the talon will cost me about $100 more than the terra and with the basspro trade in deal the viper is only another $50 over the talons so where does it end?

Ohh the horror! :) its fun shopping. No fun spending. I have never used the zeiss but im sure you cant go wrong with any of your choices.

One thing to keep in mind is that extra 50 can go toward a bino-tripod adapter or a new bino harness to keep those shiny new binos safe from dirt/debris while hunting.

I love my Minox 10x42s I bought a few years ago.

I really like the Vortex warranty though, and might buy the Talons if I were buying today. The warranty was one of the reasons I went with Vortex when I bought my spotting scope this year.
FYI - Minox also has a "no fault" warranty.

Per Doug at CamerlandNY -

The Minox warranty reads as follows:
"By registering your purchase you will gain the full benefits of our MINOX Lifetime Total Coverage Warranty. This extraordinary plan provides protection against manufactures defects, functional failures, or any accidental damages to the covered Product, including breakage, water damage or any accident.
Please make sure, that your MINOX sport optics binocular or spotting scope is registered online at www.minox.com/usa/warranty within 30 days from the date of purchase."

Sounds like just the original owner gets the lifetime warranty but you could always call them to see.
