I have been watching these threads for several years, I have introduced myself years ago. I mostly just read and look at pics. I joined when I started collecting points for Wyoming Antelope. I now have 5 points and can't decide where to try to burn them. I am not looking for anyone's secret spot just some sound advise on where to start. I have spent 6 or 7 winters in the Rocksprings area working in the oil patch but I realize that area takes a lot more than 5 pts. I am just looking for a good area where I can take my 8 yr old son for a few days, do some hunting, maybe fish a little. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Took 6 points for me to draw. You are getting close but the point creep kills us all. Rock Springs area had a ton of goats when I hunted there.

Don't know how hard these areas got hit by the winter weather but 89, 90-1, 90-2 and 91 had some very nice antelope in them and the green river is not too far away. You should be able to draw them with 5 points.

Winter was very rough in those areas... more snow on the winter ranges than in a decade+... nonetheless there will be goats and if you are just looking for a good hunt with good fishing opportunity as well, any of those units would be a good choice

I've hunted 59 in the past, took my two eight year old boys last time, they had the time of their life.

You can apply for a couple antelope doe tags in many units for only $48 each. You can still buy another point for a buck, learn the unit for a future draw, and still have a fun, "easy" hunt with your boys. Look on the statistics page on the F&G website, and you can find the tags available for each unit. Beware though for the areas where tags will likely be reduced due to last winter's conditions.

Some areas have more tags this year , only parts of the state had a rough winter. That being said major storm blowing in right now and it could turn out to be a big one. Lots of good antelope east of the continental divide.

One of the best areas in Wyoming is 57. Might want to check out the 57-2 tag and its boundary's. Draw odd's are on the G&F website...
