I leave the 14th for my first backcountry Elk hunt and I can not tell you all how much help everybody has been on this forum. I was just wanting to ask for any last minute advice/to do's before me and my brother embark on this adventure. We do not have any expectation of killing, but plan on having an amazing time and learning a lot on our first backcountry elk hunt. Thanks again for all your help god bless and good luck to everybody!!

Good luck labman, and don't be too hard on yourself. With the homework you've done, experience, drive, and some backcountry beginners luck on your side, theres no telling what we'll see pictures of upon your return! Be safe.

I am sure you will have an amazing time, and I wouldn't be surprised if you get one. Are you backpacking in? I would say do not build a fire unless absolutely necessary, and avoid metal to metal contact like tent polls, metal spoon to cup, etc. Only one thing makes that noise and the elk seem to know who it is. Have fun and be careful.
