A/T Tires

Thinking about buying a set of Kuhmo or Yokohama Geolandars for my F-150. I had a set of the Geolandars before and they worked very well in WY but don't know much about the Kuhmo's. Anyone running these on their trucks.

I used to run those yokohamas and I loved em. Got tons of miles on each set and I like the tread pattern a lot. Never ran the other brand but if it aint broke don't fix it

I had Yokohamas on my Tundra...they wore rapidly IMO. I just put a set of 10 ply rated Coopers on it and so far I love them. Much better traction than the Yoko's. I got them from Discount Tire Direct and paid far less than I would have locally, plus no tax and free shipping right to my door. In addition I got a $75.00 pre-paid Visa card. They're the best tire store on the internet. This is the third set I bought form them and I need a set for my trailer next.

I live and do much of my driving on gravel roads that are primarily flint rock, hell on tires. I run the Cooper ST Maxx tires on my vehicles that see much pavement. They are really aggressive tread for an all terrain and wear very well. They do well when our roads turn to slop or off road also. The beater truck still gets Hankook mud tires.

Kuhmo Ventures A/T are a very nice tire, with a long life. Personally owned them, and got around 70,000ish if rotated, and balanced regularly.

Thanks guys for the reviews. I just may go with the Geolandars because I had them before but the Kuhmo's are about $100 a set cheaper. I had very good life with them but less than the 55,000 their rated at.

I broke down and replaced my 1997 F-150 with a new 2016 F-150. The have P rated tires on them. I drew a type 2 antelope tag that opens in mid Aug but I'm afraid to run those tire on the BLM roads. I was lucky and bought another set of Ford tires and rims for $450. The tires are the same P rated Goodyear as mine with only 10,000 mi on them. I'll put the LT tires on those wheels and used the only when I really need them. No real jumbo here in WA but the roads can be real rocky but less sharp rock than in WY.

I run the Cooper Discoverer AT3 right now and I like them. They're good on the highway, decent in the snow and have handled the rock crawling and mud that I've done with it just fine. They seem to be lasting pretty well. They did get a little chewed up from the volcanic rock on the way out to Kelly Point on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. But that was 25+ miles of 4low crawling so I think any AT tire would show some use after that.

Decided on the Falken wild peak AT/3w and had them mounted on Sat. Going to WY on thru for a week long deer hunt and will let you know how they worked out.

I just got a new set of Toyo A/T 2's. So far I love them!

I will never own another pair of Nittos! They are such garbage. 25k miles on the set I had and they wore like crap too.

Side note

Do not buy Fuel Wheels. They crack and loose air. The reviews are very bad and I have 4 buddy's that have had cracks and he'd to replace the wheeels in the end. I have a crack in one and had to put on a spare. Waiting to see what Fuel is going to do as far as warranty but I can't trust these wheels anymore and will more then likely replace with a different brand.

Love my Toyo A/T's but I put M/T's on for Wyoming and glad I did. The A/T's went back on when I got home.

I will have to keep an eye on my wheels, I have the Fuel Krank wheels and have had them on my F-150 for 5 years. So far no issues.

Anybody have the Hankook Dynapro A/T? I will be needing some tires soon and want something that will be good in snow and everyday use. I have heard good things about them. I believe they have a 50k mile warranty as well.

BFG K02 always get great reviews but have heard horror stories regarding their life, some people saying they got less than 20k on them (one guy said 10k!!)

I had the hankook's your asking about. I sold the truck before the tires wore out. They were very good tires and would recommend. My only complaint was road noise but no worse than other truck tires.

I put a set of Mickey Thompson ATZ on my lifted Ram. They perform very well and are quiet. I'm hoping the mileage is better than the Coopers I ran previously.

Well I am going to buy a new set of wheels. Decided I can't risk myself or family with wheels that might fail. I'm waiting to get a replacement set of wheels under warranty that I will sell and will let the peorson know why I'm selling them.

I have those Coopers on all my service trucks. They are great tires. Look at the Toyo a/t II. They have a 60k mileage warranty and are a cross between m/t and a/t.
