So I drew unit 92 for whitetails. What can I expect in terms of numbers and size of bucks? When is the best time to hunt them? Any areas to concentrate on? Thanks.

You better get some private land lined up. Almost all the whitetails in that area are on private land. Call the WGFD in Lander and see if they can be of any help. I hunted whitetail does in that area a few years ago but I think getting private land access for bucks might be a lot more difficult.

The challenge on a lot of Whitetail hunting is having access to private land. Quick glance at TagHub and there is some walk in areas there, using the Spartan Forge app you can also find the different ag types. If you can access Walk in that is close to Corn or Alfalfa there is always a chance.

I live here and kill whitetail does every fall. It’d be best to call WGFD and get some private access, then plan on timing the first part of the rut when whitey bucks are cruising. Helped a buddy kill a nice whitetail buck a couple of years ago and like Nov 6-8 was money.

I’d say quality and quantity of bucks depends on the access. The fringe whitetail habitat has fewer animals than in 2022 but I’m seeing em in fair quantities in all the usual places this year so far.
