I got really lucky and drew the tag after 11 years of applying. I am looking at the unit and trying to figure out where I should stay. I work from home and I can do most of my work stuff at night on my laptop so I can hunt during the day. I need to get a hotel with Wifi. If anyone with Experience in that unit could give me their opinion on where they would set up a base of operations at a hotel with Wifi let me know. Right now I am leaning towards the Pilot Hotel in Montello but Wells and Jackpot are options also. I plan on staying until I tag out or the end of the season whichever comes first. I have maps and a landowner chip and I am pretty good at finding elk. I am going unguided and solo. I am not looking for any secret intel just a general opinion from guys in NV that have hunted that area for Elk.

I hunted antelope in idahos unit 47 just to the north of ya 2 years ago...I think it was unit 76 bordering me to the south,,,for hotels id say jackpot area will probly be one of your options,but unless the weather gets bad,,,id recommend camping out as youll be able to be closer to the critters morning and evening,,,as I drove thru there,,It was the only time id ever seen a 6 pt bull at 1pm in the afternoon not far off the highway.you see that very often.
