I have two 307 actions and two rifle barrel blanks one is .270 1-8 the other is 284 1-8.4.

Does anyone have any time shooting either caliber. I have read mixed reviews on both.

I would go with 7 if those are the two choices. Several here have had success with the 7 PRC and it knocked down a moose on film for us last year.

Do a load comparison data. You will see a pretty significant difference in energy when using bullets in the 168-175 gr range. NRA did a good comparison article last summer also.

sounds like you're ready to build 2!

the 7rsaum is a pretty cool option it seems, especially if you hand load.

the 6.8 is interesting, but it doesn't seem to be setting the world on fire....

That would be my concern. 7 prc is here to stay. Although it's been tarnished a bit from not getting the velocity on the box. Hornady had to switch powders due to the Ukraine war putting strain on it and had to switch resulting in significant drops in velocity, like 200 ft per second slower.
