i only went out there for a day, took my son with me, we didn't go to far out from Arco. ran into a guy that said he's been seeing some decent bucks but mostly young ones. seen the biggest herd of antelopes ive ever seen though with some true monster bucks. wasn't hunting those but spent at least two hours just glassing them. son thought that was cool. not much of a desert hunting guy, just thought id give it a go.

Several ways into the unit, did you take the east side by Arco airport? On the west you enter just north of carrie, or further south of carrie, just curious as to road conditions after the fires.thanks larry

yeah, no trees. a lot of sage and some junipers, but junipers are lacking. but, I bet you could find a good place nearby in carey, hunting that side of 52a might be a good option in November, if I ever hunt that unit again I will hunt that area and or Minidoka area. good luck.

Headed out the door with my 52a antelope tag now. Hopefully I can find a good 1st goat like the ones I found over the summer. You guys have certainly got my hopes up. Good Luck to everyone out there this weekend

good luck....
Thanks, it was a fun hunt while it lasted. Drove all night Friday, was done by noon on Saturday. Saw this goat with his right horn hooking straight forward and couldn't resist. Not bad for my first, leave it to me to still find a way to shoot my animal a ways from the road even on a goat hunt.

had a heck of a time finding deer,,the deer here are pretty thin,,,threw in the towel at 10 days and 11 deer spoted.I think this late muzz hunt needs weather to push the deer in from surrounding units?took 5 days before I even seen the first deer?covered country, they just were not there.tag soup on this one, though I had high expectations on this rut hunt.

that's a bummer deal! that desert out there is crazy. the bordering unit (68) I drive around a lot, some days ill see animals all over the place and other days its like nothing has ever lived there. 2 monster bucks got killed a week ago in 68. muzzy hunt. where did you focus your time at? or just everywhere?

I covered and cris-crossed all over that unit,,over 450 rough 2 track miles over 10 days time, plus miles afoot, and glassing all hrs of the day.I gave it a good try
