I would like to burn my 6 pts this year but can't decide between type 1 or 2. Stats show I'll get the type 2 but no guarantee that I'll get the type 1. Is the type 1 that much better since it is closer to the rut?

Last year, 5 points was 100% for the Type 1 tag so chances are really good you'd draw this year with 6. I don't think the rut has much to do with the draw odds. Type 1 you get to hunt before the Type 2 tagholders. I really can't see any benefit going with the type 2 tag if you have the points for type 1.
I meant the quality of hunt of type 1 vs type 2 seasons. I'd l I very to hunt the earlier but I saw only 17% chance with 4 pts, didn't see a statement for 6 pts.

If an area hunt is during the rut, I'm in on that! Those dominate bucks spend so much time paying attention to ripe does, I can sneak around to the desired position for a shot.

If I'm understanding your post, anything above 4pts. as a first choice should draw. I'm just going off your post, I haven't looked at the actual numbers though!

Not sure about #47, but # 32 is right next door. The problem there is that after the type I go round, the goats move onto private and for the most part they stay there. Just going from experiences that I had. I'd go for the first season before all the good heads are shot off.
I just found the stats page and yes it is 100% at 5 points. Very good news. Now I just need to draw it and find a place to camp

47 is a public land hunt and for years was one of the best units in the state. Drought affected it but numbers are back.Great hunt there and the type 1 or 2 depends on when you can get out there. Sage grouse, elk in the hills and mule deer can be seen. Might look out for black-footed ferrets too.Wait ti apply later after the winter is mostly over. We have a potential for a bad winter right now, lots of snow and cold.
Great info. Have deer points too, maybee look for them while we are up there. As for snow co is getting hammered.

That works! Any size? I'll have to stick to the early hunt this yr cause after that I'm doing co antelope then co 2nd season deer, all in october.
