He'll be on someone's wall unless he does like Popeye and moves off the mountain before the season opener. Google Earth is getting a lot of use right now as people try to identify that mountain..
I could tell you within 200 yards of where that video was taken.

I used to hunt those mountains a lot back when they were a general season tag.

Very impressive buck, but I don't think he's 40" spread not even close

They have actually revised it down to 35-40. The problem is that he is still in velvet and until that comes off everyone is just guessing.

I have seen a few 40+ bucks down there and there are also a lot of the 35+ ones running around those hills.

I agree I'm the type of guy that when I hear spread I always think of inside spread, he may be able to pull off a 40" outside spread with a little more time to grow

He's safe. Im not going there this season. Too many other places to hunt but I encourage EVERY hunter to go after that buck. SPEND THE WHOLE SEASON GETTING HIM! lol

So far I have heard of 3 archery hunters out of 12 tags that are watching this buck.

I don't think that he'll have a chance once the season begins.

I'm kind of pulling for him to be honest.

At the tail end when he started kicking off the youngsters, then the 180+ bucks, and then it was just him standing there I said "you go big boy!"

About the only chance that he will have of living through the hunts is to head to the badlands down below where he is located at or head off into the National Park.
