Hi looking for a little input or thoughts about hunting elk in unit 14 or 15 for elk in the third season, I would like to have had boots on the ground but being over sea's right now makes it kinda hard. Any info would help. Thank you

Snow makes elk hunting so much better. Especially in the later seasons because it draws the bulls out to feed and they stay out longer. It also makes spotting elk through the glass a lot easier.

Some snow is great..... be careful what you ask for though.

I hunt 1st season regularly and it is not uncommon to see snow the second week of Oct.
We have been almost snowed in a couple of times 2nd season.
Be prepared for a lot but hope for just some!!!!!

I was going to hunt the third season but due to the army I will be hunting the second season and I'm looking at unit 5 and 14.

I have hunted 5 2nd season and 3rd had snow for both but in IMO the 3rd is better less people and more elk. 5 has blm and some of the routt Nf found some restricted travel area and get away from the crowds and you'll find the elk

Thank you every one for the info, I'm kinda leaning towards going back by dome peak or out past diamond park.

I'd much rather have no snow and solid footing.....it's dangerous getting around in steep country with snow on the ground
