Wouldn't the 300prc and 375 Ruger be even better if they were magnum length vs standard?

I realize they came out to fit into standard length actions...

I just think they would fill a nice niche between say the 375H&H and 375 RUM
or
300win.mag, and 300 RUM

they'd give you increased performance... with the same bolt face, instead of giving you the same performance in a cartridge that's what... 0.2" shorter??

It is hard anymore to come up with a cartridge design that hasn't been tried time and time again. They have to try and find a little nitch that the new one would fit into.

I know that the 375 Ruger has quite a few fans over on a African Hunting forum that I am on. But as for it in a magnum length action, I think that you already have quite a few that are already there. Start with the .375 H&H, 375 H&H Improved, 375 Weatherby which is a 375 H&H Improved, and then the 378 Weatherby. Which is in a world all of it's own.

I'm not that familiar with the 300prc but I would believe that is is in the same type of boat that the 375 H&H is in. You have the 300 Win mag, 300 H&H, 300 Weatherby, 300 Norma mag along with others.
