Does anyone shoot one of these or own one of these? I didn't even know they existed until a couple of days ago. I have owned two, 300 H&H's and love them. Now I am intrigued by the 275 H&H. There is not a lot of resource material out there to read but it looks like you can shoot a 140 grain bullet around 3,000 fps and that is good enough for me. I like owning guns that not many others own and I don't mind reloading. I think it would be a great custom gun project.

Wow, I never even heard of them. It might be something to tinker with just for something to do but as a hunting round you would be chasing the performance of a 7 MM mag.

Ackley talks about in in volume 1 of his books and it is also in cartridges of the world. It is very similar to the 7mm Rem mag and also the 7x61 S&H and a few other 7mm's based on the 300 H&H case. There is also a 244 H&H.

I never shot a 300 H&H until I had a couple of seasons under my belt with my 375 H&H. I finally built my 300 H&H, and it is my go to rifle. I had never heard of the 275 until I came across it in an old reloading manual and also thought it was interesting. It is my next project. There is just something about seeing that H&H stamp on the brass. I know there are modern cartridges that will mirror or surpass the performance of these oldies, but I like hunting with something no one else is carrying in elk camp.

What ever you do, don't google 244 H&H, it would be some work getting one up and running, but could be fun.

I'm the same way. I like shooting something that no one else is shooting and that's why I shoot the 300 H&H. It also helps that the 300 H&H performs really well and I would expect the 275 to do the same. I think getting my hands on brass is going to be very difficult and it looks like the bullets have a weird diameter as well. A 7mm shoots .284 and the 275 H&H shoots a .287 (or something like that). I am going to spend some time enjoying my new 300 before I start messing with a 275, but it's definitely something that is on my radar now.
