I really hate the last 30 days of waiting.
Son is checking trail cams this weekend for the last time until we go into hunt.
Nothing left to do but pack.
I'm at work now so I drive the office guys nuts once a day as I practice with the reeds.
I've watched every possible archery elk hunting video on you tube at night.
Cross fit games start in a few days if no one has every watched them. I think very interesting and many of their exercises/tests have made me a ton stronger in the back country.

Its a great day for elk camp!

39 days till my first of 7 tags are good. Coming fast! I personally try and plan extra family activities, and pick up extra work, makes time fly.

That's exciting! Still a couple of months until I get to do any big game hunting. Squirrel opens here in a couple of weeks, that should help pass the time some.

And I have a few more day before the muzzle loader season, and I haven't even pulled the trigger on my muzzle loader yet this year.

Dang forest fires and the idiots that started them around me.

2 weeks till I leave for Alaska. 1 day off before then. Only 1 other in the past weeks but I took my grandson to the kids camp at the bowhunters jamboree.
Planning to head to junction to zero my rifle down there if I can due to the fires up here.

38 days until I get my "Rocky Mountain High" chasing Wapiti. Getting last minute tune up on the stick & strings and flinging arrows down range in hopes of punching my tag. I can't wait. I just hope this year there's not a heat wave like two years ago.

I am planning on going down on the BLM land just south of Gypsum and sight in my rifles. Even with the fire restrictions you can still shoot on BLM land according to Eagle County Sheriff. But I do plan on taking a shovel and a extinguisher with me just in case someone calls me on it.

The problem with retirement is that there is always a project that needs to be taken care of. I have been trying for the last 2 weeks to get my 4 wheeler out and check out the locking front diff that I put in but home projects seam to get in the way.

Sometimes I wonder how I got anything done when I was working 40+ hours a week.

38 days until I leave for my Wy elk hunt. Messed up a cam on my bow saturday.... Good thing I did it over a month out instead of right before the trip.

I hear you loud and clear. My son has an archery tag so I will do the calling and be the mule when he gets his. Wife has an either sex ML tag so again I will be the mule and guide on that trip. Works out for me as I still get to eat it. Only thing I drew was a buck 2nd season tag. After 2 hunts as guide/mule I will be ready to get behind the gun.

Shooting the bow daily and busy with scouting. The next 25 days seem to go real fast.
