I like the idea of an early bull season. Those will be premium hunts even in the OTC units and will help with point creep. I am also in favor of OTC for resident elk and limited draw elk for non residents, just like Wyoming.
I like the fact that they left the muzzy unchanged but I'm not in favor of limiting 3rd season to 5 days.

In the #2 camp.. Time for Colorado to make a change otc was crazy 5 years ago when they last looked at the 5 year and since then both the press and the number of hunters has increased. If left unchecked it very well may get to be unreasonable by the time we get to the next 5 year..

For one I am against the high country rifle elk hunts the hunts will no doubt 100% blow out both the deer and elk where ever they are offered. Belted mags ripping 600+ yds across canyons basically ends any archery hunt in the basin.

Deer and elk archery #2 go all limited draw.

Deer and elk rifle ......#2 although it would be cool for a few people I think the masses would suffer. Rifle hunt right before the second estrous cows came into heat would be pretty fun and arguably a little better than 1 st rifle with regards to bugling and finding the animals. I'd have to pick #3. for the deer and elk rifle.

Someone educate me please. I know baiting bear was voted out......but what about spot and stalk spring bear? Was that included in the vote also ? With as many bear we have now I would think its a no brainer to just open a season. I'd think it would make money also.

I am not completely sure if baiting went out at the same time as the spring bear hunt or if they put it into the referendum that wiped out leg hold traps. But it did go through the voting process.

I'm just not a fan of giving up days in the 3rd rifle season. The longer break between seasons has absolutely no impact with the units we're hunting. Although, the later 4th season would probably put some bigger bucks on the ground, and I'm in a position to draw a pretty good 4th season buck tag next year.

What does the optional High Country Deer and 4th season asterisks mean? Is it just per unit?

I was reading through some of the notes from CO parks and wildlife this morning. It looks almost certain that they are gonna go with the option that leaves archery as OTC but gives them the ability to control if an area it Either sex or just bull and limit the otc cow option. I don't think this will address the concern of overcrowding in anyway, so I'm now sure how I feel about it.
