Situation: I currently have three points for deer in Colorado. I would like to cash those point and hunt. I am considering the southwestern units (74, 75, 77, 78). These units appear to have good deer numbers and decent success rates.

Any thoughts on the units I mentioned above and what season should I put in for (2nd rifle, 3rd rifle, muzzy).

Thanks in advance.

3rd season seems to be the most popular for that area from what I've seen.

There will still be plenty of ur statesmen joining you for muzz deer and elk archery deer and elk and rifle and archery bear. Ive been there the last two years during muzz and I see more people in these units than in Pagosa Bayfield and Durango combined. If its worse during rifle then stay away at all costs

There is a lot of private down on the southeast corner of the state. While there is public land it get hit hard.

But there are some monster mulies and even big whitetails down in that area.

There was a member over on the big game hunt site that hunted down there and found a nice canyon that held some great mule deer but I never could get him to tell me where, even when I tried to bribe him with some bullets for reloading that he liked but were discontinued.
