These days I feel like an old high school rodeo horse. That has 10 contestants using him in every event. And at the end of the rodeo I might get a small Apple treat. [emoji3]
No Bueno. I think you need some tags to get in the mountains and get some daddy time.

I agree. After last year the wifey was 1 foot out the door. 9 hunts or something crazy. Plus sheep scouting every free day. She said "why don't you try fathering as hard as you hunt?" Hints the low amount of forum participation. I also told her "I got three weeks of vacation, you plan it. I'm there!" Disney, Yosemite, and something else on the books. I'll be hunting with sick time and weekends this season. I'll be sick.. A lot..

I'm listening to what your saying. I've had some issues with my boy and I'm spending as much time with him this summer before it all goes crazy again. Did Yosemite last weekend.

My work schedule is usually 60+ hours a week. Add an insane hunting addiction into the mix and I'm pretty much a ghost at home. I'll be laying low on the hunting for the next couple seasons. I've been at it pretty hard the past few years. Got some honey holes though! Focused on weekend fill the freezer and bring the kids along kinda hunting for a while. Unless I draw what I'm hoping to draw for deer this year. Then the plan will be in effect next year [emoji6]

My daughter is 4 now. I remember posting pics of her as a newborn on this site. Time flies! And it don't come back.

Would your wife get into hunting with you? Kinda what I had to do. Get the family to go with me, I did have to make my hunts family friendly as in no back country but it has been well worth it.

Took her on her first deer hunt 4+ months prego. She had an area 22 tag. Hiked her to the top of a mountain. Got her on a good 4x she made a good shot. He hunched up and we never found him. She was an emotional mess for a couple days. Got her to camp that evening and she had pinched a nerve on the hike. She was pretty much paralyzed for 12 hours. Haven't been able to talk her in to getting back at it.. The first hunt was pretty bad for her. After doing everything I could to make it enjoyable.

Oh man ya that's rough. I put my wife on a 5mile hike on her first buck, he was 190" 4x4, she missed and was devastated. I also forgot to bring and water, or food because I was so focused on getting her on him. Needless to say she has a lot of respect for what I do and how hard it is to kill big bucks. I haven't put her through that again. It's more about having fun and if we need to only hike a mile or so then so be it. She is always up to go hunting now.
