right on the front page of the dept web site, under the application booklet link

CHEYENNE - Even though the big game license application period doesn’t begin until Jan.1, hunters can start planning now for 2015 hunts.

Beginning Dec. 17, big game hunting application information for both residents and nonresidents will be on the Game and Fish website wgfd.wyo.gov. A major change in this year’s application deadline extends the time period when nonresidents can apply for deer and antelope licenses. The previous deadline was March 15 and this year will be June 1 – the same as the resident deadline. The deadline has been moved to June 1 this year because the normal deadline of May 31 is on a weekend. All other application deadlines for residents and nonresidents are the same as in previous years and are as follows: Feb. 2 – Nonresident elk (extended from Jan. 31 because of weekend); March 2 – Resident and nonresident bighorn sheep, moose, mountain goat and wild bison (extended from Feb. 28 due to weekend).

Thanks, it wasn't that I doubted you, I just couldn't figure out how you knew that!

I wonder why they don't just list the application period as being Jan 1 to June 1 then? Weird.

I've seen you and WapitiBob say the deadline will be June 1st. But, how do you know that? Just curious, since the WGFD website shows the application period being January 1st to May 31st.

The last day for modify & withdrawal is also May 31st.

Why would it matter if it's a Sunday?
Any time a deadline falls on a weekend or a holiday the date goes to the next work day for the G&F people and always has! By just posting the date once in the booklet that's one less thing they need to change when the booklet comes out the following year. It's really no big deal because a person shouldn't wait until the last day or two to apply because if the website goes down or you want to modify/withdraw you should allow a few days before the closing date to do it.
