One of my best friends just called me and his son's credit card has been hit for a Utah elk hunt. He put in for the Beaver late rifle elk hunt with only a handful of points. I've been keeping notes on this unit for several years for the early rifle hunt, but I know the late hunts can be a very different deal. If anyone is willing to give me some leads, I will forward the info to him. Feel free to PM me. They are two super quality guys and I know they would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Get there a week early and do some glassing. Bachelor herds will be feeding for winter on the edges of the canyons. Expect snow and tough conditions and to pass a few good bulls to take a better bull. I've only hunted beaver a few times for deer, just what others have told me.

I hunt that unit nearly every year. All bulls are typically not to broken up and we see plenty everyday. It is straight up and down where we hunt and most shots are 4-800 yards. You are lucky to have drawn that tag. If you want me to give u some spots to try I can maybe help out. But u got to be able to shoot the distance. Pm me and we can get this rolling.
