They closed I-80 down near Elko when I was working there because of the cricket migration crossing the interstate and so many of them were ran over the smashed cricket guts created a black ice situation.

Yep......when they made it to the urban areas it was a total disaster. They were eating the siding off of houses, they will eat about anything. The only thing that stopped them was the Humboldt River. I think the governor at the time even declared a state of emergency for Elko County.
