Regular random draw for antelope units that takes 3-5 points or random draw for 87, 89 or 90 deer. besides I drew in the random in 2012 so really couldnt see it happening again so soon.

With all of the cuts, you might have as good or better odds than residents in those areas!
Maybe so. With all the tag cuts Im not even sure where I want to apply since units I was after or have hunted have changed alot and Im not sure my antelope unit is worth the points now.

You're preaching to the choir on that one. I'm in for a couple new areas this year to increase my odds a little.

I may change areas too. I would like to hunt antelope with 3 points. Deer Im really at a loss what to do. I keep waiting hoping it will get better but it gets worse. Not that I have alot of points but I like to have a good idea where Im headed with them.

I didn't put in for deer or antelope this year. Try and concentrate on the kid's first year. Hopefully I picked decent areas. I am a little worried about it and want to start looking into the area he gets. I put him in for the draw on deer so hopefully it won't be a zoo. He does pretty good, but I didn't want to push it to hard and get into the really gnarly areas away from people. I might have to put in for points I guess. I have never done that for deer or antelope. I am kindof excited for elk this year, though.

lol, I don't know. I obviously don't know what I am talking about. My parents live in Area 60 deer and it is almost impossible to draw and it is archery only this year I think. It apparently doesn't work that way. Oops, foot in mouth.

Antelope hunts are always the best way for the youngsters to start IMO. No matter what happens they can have more than one opportunity if they get nervous on the first one and you can ease them in if you have too.

Thanks, it should be fun. We got the stock fitting him better with a cheek rest and he is shooting pretty well. I am kindof impressed. Its a lot different with an animal in the sights.
