We finally got our buck!
I was in the mountain for 5 days hiking every ridge, canyon and peak looking for the bucks I had watched all year. Some bucks where still where they were all summer but most were gone. I couldn't find the big wide 3x3 or the cheater buck. What I did find was four lion kills and a huge lion on one of the kills that let me get to 150 yards of him before he took off. I was on the quad and didn't know he was there but he scared the crap out of me. If I had a rifle with me I would have photos of the biggest lion I've ever seen! I also think this is why the deer are gone. The full moon and 80+ degree temps was enough for me to call it quits pack up camp and the family and head home for a well needed shower and regroup. I spoke to a good friend about the hunt and he said go home get some rest and be at my house at 4 am and we will go kil a big buck tomorrow. Well I couldn't pass that up! So here is the buck we took. I'll post the whole story and more photos soon. I'm so proud of my daughter being there with me she's a real rock star to have gone through what it took to get this buck. She is one special lady and is going to show Those's boys how to hunt one day soon! I love her deeply!
