Gutsy call to have him mounted in that pose. But it paid off in spades! You will get a lifetime of pleasure out of having that beautiful trophy. Good going Velvetfvr!

Very unique mount. I agree with Mt Mike that took a leap of faith and it really turned out great.
I take it you had him done there in Reno?
Please PM me the contact info if you don't mind.

All I need to do is stay on 80 on the way home, instead of getting off in Winemucca :)

awesome mount. I would recommend turning him around though to display. I think a person gets a better view of the rack and you also wouldn't see the back of the mount if it was positioned differently. I think the best angle of the mount was in one of the outdoor pics of it. It looks like the antlers may interfere with that awesome mule deer shoulder mount you have behind it but I think I would move things around to give people a better view of it. very cool and unique mount.

That's the problem with him being in my room. I may turn him a little bit when guests come over.

This ones quality really makes that shoulder look like mediocre quality. This buck is bigger and better taxi work IMO. But the shoulders is still pretty good also

I definitely agree the taxi work is better on your new mount. when I said awesome mule deer shoulder mount I was just talking about the size of the deer, I think he looks like a pretty good one, one i'd be super happy with.

Very cool mount! Beautiful job by your taxidermist. Congrats! I lived in Reno for years and I don't recognize your taxidermist's names. Must be some new talent in town..."Stan" has done several for me.

What's the cost for a mount of that nature?
Depends on the taxi. The habitat and rocks are expensive. I made the pedestal myself so I saved a couple hundred bucks I think. But I saved money by making my pedestal.
