2012 Hoyt Carbon Element

I got a chance to shoot one last night. It was very fast. I was very impressed by how smooth and easy the draw cycle was. Just one problem. The back wall was not very good. Personally I would not spend the $1,300 some dealers are going to ask. Anyone else shot one?

Might go with the 2011 model leftovers to save a few pennies..

I have a 2011 and the back wall is great!! It's like hitting a brick wall with your elbow. A little exaggerated but you get the point.

Well there are new cams on this years model. That might be the problem.

I already bought one. This bow is AMAZING! Worth every penny in my book.

You need to make sure the cams are hitting the draw stops at the same time. I have the 2011 Matrix + and it has a very nice wall. The binary type cams have a brick hard wall and Hoyt is a step behind that. That being said, I shoot Hoyts better than any other bow I have shot.

I currently have the 2011 Element and it's been a great bow. I've been eyeing the 2012 put haven't committed yet. The only big difference is the cam. It loads up front then smooths out toward the back of the draw cycle, where the 2011 loads up pretty much all the way through thedraw cycle. I've always liked a solid wall and short valley it ensures you don't creep. Being a lefty with a short draw (26.5) it's
tough to find one to shoot but my shop has one on the way.

I felt the improvements for 2012 were very slight but I do like them. The biggest thing I liked was the hold at full draw it seemed to lock in just a touch better than the fuel cam did. I didn't check what the actual let-off was but I bet it was probably about 2# less than the 2011 CE. They named them the RKT cams for the extra speed. Truthfully I feel the extra speed for the most part is coming from the speed nocks and 1/4" less on the brace height. My Element I owned last year shot on average 5 fps faster with the added speed nocks I installed. Even thou the changes were slight IMO I still liked them over the fuel cams.
