I miss seeing posts by Bitterroot. He doesn't seem to come around here much anymore. He's a very knowledgable guy.

What a great trip. Umpqua and Hoshour; I have the UTV and the outback experience if you want to start talking about doing something like that. My wife and I will be doing a summer long road trip to Alaska in 2018,and I plan to do some on ground research when I get there.
Bitteroot; thanks for a professional grade video; it was inspiring.

How physically demanding was that hunt? My dad would love to go. At that price, it is doable. He has a hard time with arthritis in his toes. He is having surgery to try and help it. I have some friends going this year doing the same trip. Not sure if its the same area but it all sounds fun. Very affordable and you don't have to wait a lifetime to go moose hunting.

Riding the ATVs wasn't super demanding, of course. It was rough riding however, because the "trails" weren't maintained in any sort of way. Some of the longer hikes were pretty demanding, though, because walking on that tundra (think water bed) will wear you out quickly. We saw a camp full of elderly guys, but they spent every day in a blind looking at the same bend in the river.
