Filson Rules just getting way too expensive.I would like to make a set myself.Would Velcro take the punishment instead of zippers.Right now I just tuck in my pant legs and velcro or bunji acround the top.Lots of cactus here,need something more substantial.

Get after it, and post up some pictures when your done! I've made meat bags, rifle holders for 4 different packs, altered bigger clearance cloths smaller to fit me. If I can save a few hundred, so I can afford to hunt more, I'll happily do it!

I thought about making some from a canvas tarp from harbor freight. 3m has a waterproofing spray for canvas.

conibear where did you purchase your lace hooks?Looks like they will work perfect.Sleeves are a great idea,I was using old shorts and they aren't long enough.

That is a great idea. I have a pair of attack pant that are about to become cut offs but I never thought to make gaiters
