They should still be on a feeding pattern in early Oct.
If you can get there in mid-late Sept. might find a buck still in velvet.

I agree with Wy-tex- go early if you can while they are still on a fairly predictable pattern. Mid-October is a tough time to chase whitetails.

Wy-Tex and Hilltop I would do just that if I didn't have 2 doe pronghorn tags to fill also. As it is, I have to combine the 2 hunts and thus hunt deer later than I want to. thanks for the input guys

mid October they will be prerutting good. Use a decoy and call and you should be successful. The whitetails are in full rut first part of November. These deer rut about the same time as the Midwest deer.
