The biggest deer I saw was about like your second pic. Went in wed. a bout 3 miles at 10k and found bucks like that and smaller instantly. I was able to find them everyday and had several stalks and a couple blown shots ( my fault). I saw a lot of deer, just not HUGE deer which is OK by me, I had a blast and I'm heading back for another 6 days after my antelope hunt next week.

My buddy was up all last week, said after the opener they got hard to find. Had a couple sneeks on decent bucks but didn't seal the deal. He spent 10 days total.

I'm heading back out friday, I have 10 solid days to finish out the season. Hoping to make it count, antelope doesn't fill the freezer like a good buck does. Good luck to everyone heading out for the final week. Let's see some 17 grip and grin pics after this final week. Hunt hard guys!

Just got back from the arc dome wilderness and saw a few decent bucks and one Really nice 190 class buck,he was a nice deer, not real wide but had awesome forks and eyeguards. Blew my stalk at 70 yards on him because the wind changed, had to leave the next morning so i couldnt get back on him. Good luck everyone else that is going back.

Just got back this evening, older bucks are all hard horned and jumpy as hell. Spent 7 days hunting solo and had a stalk everyday, got to chase several bucks but not close the distance more than 82yds. The lightning was flat out scarey and WAY to close. Had a bolt hit less than 800yds away. Spent 3 nights drying out and running from lightning. Bucks got hard to find when the storms blew in. I need better rain gear (any suggestions are appreciated). Had rain and lightning blow 3 stalks in 4 days. Had a great buck bedded in a perfect stalking situation and thunder boomed, he got up and moved a few yards. I was still 110 yards out and it boomed again and he left the basin for cover over the ridge, never did locate him again. I had a blast and learned a ton, can't wait for next hear. How did everybody else do?

NVbowhunter, I also found tons of lion sign up there. I'm taking my hounds out after a good snow and see what we can catch.

If I had lion dogs, thats where I,d take um. Lots of lion sign out there! And I had a pretty good weekend out there, I hit Cow,Ledbetter and stuart creek canyons for deer. I ended up seeing a 2x4 and a real nice 165-170 class deer that I blew a stalk on at 70 yds because I sneezed! will be going back in two weeks for the muzzy season. Good luck to everyone else out there,If you get something, post pics on here!

Ya I had a Freeking blast in the unit, saw a ton of deer and even though i walked my balls off, got rained on hard, and missed a chip shot at a nice 3x3 i am still happy and will be back for sure. Amazing country and you can't beat the chase.

Ahh the good ol days with a junior tag, good luck to you! I wish I had taken up archery and muzz back in my junior tag days. With the way it went this year it's almost a guaranteed archery tag so that makes me excited for next year. Hope this unit stays under the radar, it's not much of a road hunter unit so that hopefully will keep people away.

I third the fun factor, had more fun then a can remember. That is a nice find NV bnb. I've found a lot of lion kills but not that big. I did notice the crab claw trait in a lot of the bucks up there. Saw some great 4x typical that with a couple more years will be fantastic bucks. I found a couple of sheds and some primo arrow heads from years gone bye. Gotta say, putting the boots and glass to work is way better than sitting on my keaster dreaming about it! Got to let some arrows fly and had a lot of stalks, some good some bad! Opening day was my $ maker and had a young kid come in and kinda blow it all for me, was 30yds from a good 4x buck and he came waltzing in with a cow decoy and blew my waiting game to hell. That's public land hunting tho and don't regret a thing. Good luck with the rifle and muzzy tags, if I had a boom stick my tag was done and filled a dozen times over. But I'm sticking with stick and string for the huntfactor, intense to say the least.
