The stimulus program is just that stimulus...in place to increase overall spending or consumption , increase GDP, keep the unemployment rate stable/lower......essentially a tax break. Doesn't really have any fundamental ties to who needs it but a more broad-brush solution to prevent bigger problems. Keeps the economy stable or helps with recession or depression. I think there is a lot of similarities when you compare the indicators in the economy during the time period of 1933 to 1939 and the New Deal and present day. Trump team saw the signs, Biden team saw the signs....really has no political affiliation.

Now all the extra program stuff that was in it is very debatable and politically driven but in the end......it increases overall aggregate demand

basically a prop to keep the house of cards standing one more year . or a patch if you will.

a means to once again fail to address the real problem which is out of control government spending by the fiscally challenged.(dems). but to be fair ,repubs haven't done any better lately.
a means to prop up fiscally irresponsible states/citizens by stealing from the fiscally responsible . this government has become the very thing it was created to protect from!

the dems are without a doubt worse when it comes to dumb policies but I would agree they don't own a monopoly on them.
I think both sides understand this nation is doomed to fail . it is inevitable because neither side will admit that they are the problem.
transferring (stealing ) the wealth is the only way they know to slow the inevitable fall.

yeah I know , many won't agree . they will call me negative for speaking the truth, when my every statement shows how positive I am that I am correct . ;) mostly because they can't face the idea that most of their loved ones are gonna die when it finally happens and much of the blame will be theirs.

the plain and simple truth is wether or not any one agrees is no longer even relevant . I no longer believe any recoarse will save this nation . really would love to be wrong but I AM NOT!

this nation WAS built on a solid foundation but we have managed to totally erode it over the years and there is no doubt the final gust is coming!

carpe diam , brothers!

At times it makes me wonder how the government actually decided that we needed this money.

I can understand those who were laid off or lost jobs due to the government shutting down everything but where I am located at things have been mostly normal. That is except for the ski mountains being shut down a month ahead of schedule, and the hotels letting their help go a little bit earlier than normal, that is for the first part of the shutdown. But things quickly picked back up.

As for needing it I didn't, but it was welcomed since I had some major dental work being done this past year. Getting a implant and a new tooth isn't cheap. But all of my "welfare check" went to this. It didn't stimulate the economy very much since all of the three payments went to two dentist plus quite a bit more out of my own pocket. The one thing that I liked about it is that it was $3200 that didn't come directly out of my pocket except for the taxes that I pay.
They decided it before the Georgia Senate runoff elections. Biden promised that if they voted in the Democrats they would all get $1,400.
Seems like that would be a considered a bribe if anyone else made an offer like that.
