Hey All,

Looking for some productive information for this area for a DIY bowhunter? Never been up there, I have a few days in June and July to get some scouting done before season, hopefully! Any help much appreciated!

I will be all over that area chasing muledeer the last two weeks of August, if I run into you I will let you know what I'm seeing, as far as elk go...

Heard it's a nice area and a beast of a pack in the jarbidge. Best of luck. I drew same area cow elk early hunt with my Dad. Hoping to stay in areas with ATV use (East of wilderness area) because of my dad's physical abilities. I'm down to hike for days and don't expect an easy hunt. We have 9 days to hunt. Any info will help. Going on one scouting trip in Aug and I'll relay and info if I see some bulls.

072 a great area and scouting the terrain will be worth your time. Some of that country is very rugged and will be one heck of a pack out with a bull.008.jpg

Was up in 072 for 4 days. Had somewhat of a family emergency which cut my trip short 5 days and wasn't able to get a cow unfortunately. Hiked in 5 miles one day found out I was 2 canyons over from a herd of 150+. Found some good sheds if anyone has a winter bull tag or has a tag for any elk in that area coming up...I can point you right to where they were 3-4 days ago and from what I heard they been there for awhile and will be until winter. My buddy hiked in the day I left and harvested a cow.said the bulls were buggling like crazy..Pretty hot up there as well. Was in low to mid 70's. Just PM me. Best of luck
