For elk or deer in units that have a fair amount of tags. How does a party entry work? If one of the applicants come up in the draw does the other hunter receive a tag if a tag is still left. If someone could explain the process as I am unsure of how it works.
Looks like they are getting a good amount of rain in the area I will hunt this fall. Some areas have had over 4 inches in the past 90 days. Most has had 1.5 to 2.5 inches. Is this normal? I know they don't get a lot of rain fall in the whole year.
Now that the draw results are out with the three zones. The future of elk hunting for non-resident in Wyoming looks bleak.
Me and my buddy are setting at 4.5 and could be at 5.5 going into next years draw. Looking at the numbers we appear to be in no mans land. Probably never know for sure we...
I had a few questions about an antelope tag I drew for public land in Northeast New Mexico.
I have done all my research and even driven through the unit on a couple past trips out there.
What I am looking for is what to expect. There is a good amount of State land and access seems really good...
Do I understand process correctly?
You enter with 3 unit choices.
If application is drawn.
They look at 1st choice. If tag is available you draw the tag.
If not they look at 2nd choice. If tag is available you draw the tag.
If not they look at 3rd choice. If tag is available you draw the tag.
If...

This is in Arkansas but on line. A rare and extensive collection. Oh if I had the money. Better than looking at beautiful women in some ways.
Looking at the results for the points required for a general elk tag I am think I may be in no mans land. Current group I plan to hunt with. I will have 5 PP and the two others will have 4 PP going into next years draw. So that would average 4.33 PP. It looks like we could be below the line...
Just asking cause my mother was one of the best pie makers I have know. I have set a goal to be able to make pies close to what she could make. She passed 2020. I have got fairly good as far as taste but the appearance is work in progress.
Looking for some advice. I am a first time elk hunter. My question is mainly about scouting. When you draw a tag in late spring. When can you start scouting the area. I will likely only get one chance to scout the area due to distance of travel. When can you expect elk to be in the area...
I shot this deer hunting. There two of them. I shot the first one and had a round jam on my bolt action. First time this has happened in over 30 years. I think I had the round to far back in the mag. Anyway not much on size, but one less bird eater.
I made this trip this year. Here is my advice. I thought I was ready for the hunt lost 33 pounds and walked over 250 miles. I came to the realization you can not prep for this hunt on the open tundra. We got our butts kicked by the green monsters. Just cause you walk in 5 miles does not mean...
I started with a goal in February to lose 50 pounds and get in better shape for my August 18th - 29th caribou hunt in Alaska.
To date I have lost 32 pounds and walked 220 miles. It is looking like I may not make the targeted weight loss. It has been very hard
to take off the pounds. I am not...
Have you noticed the increase in Outfitted or guided hunts? I receive as I am sure some of you do offers for all type of hunting trips. It is just crazy the cost of all the hunts. I got one today that really shocked me. A West Texas Barberry Sheep hunt priced at $8.000.00. A discounted...
New Mexico is considering moving the season dates for pronghorn. If you support moving dates later out of August to September sent them an email at this address.
