I'd like to see a muzzleloaders only season, no archery

Unit 70 in Colorado is a tough hunt in 3rd season unless you get lots of snow. I hunt it regularly as I live about 100 miles to the south. I have seen and shot some nice bucks from it, but I always hunt 4th season.

What made me go to the 180 level was that his is 30" wide. Hard to judge that in the picture.

I say 180's. Harder to tell when they are in the velvet as it makes the mass seem greater.

Better to let real hunters pay to take an animal rather than pay shooters to do it!

True. Cows would probably bring 1/2 of that. But the idea of letting hunters take the excess animals and pay for it needs to be explored.

Similar situation in Rocky Mt. NP in Colorado. It is overrun with elk and the NP Service hires people (I'll not call them hunters) to shoot elk and pays them. It is absolutely stupid to totally ban hunting in the National parks. They could make a lot of $$$ selling tags!

I don't want to tick anybody off, but using a 340, 375 or 416 seems to me a little bit of overkill for deer sized game. IMHO you don't need anything bigger than .30 caliber. A lot easier on the shoulder and pocketbook.

I have a set of shoe/boot stretchers. They are wooden and adjust for width. Simple to use and not expensive. They work well.

I've caught them from Baja to Washington and they are the best!
