How many of you will get the Covid shot?

Our county gives everyone a weekly update on the vaccinations. Our county has around 25,000 residents and over 12,000 have been vaccinated so far. Today there is an all day driveup clinic and they will vaccinate any adult for free until the supply runs out.

    Ranching for Wildlife tags

Remember one thing....the ranch isn't allocating the tags for RFW because they want you to hunt on their private ranch. It is because they have to in order to get their own tags for their clients and/or their outfitter.

    Ranching for Wildlife tags

I saw Colorado's RFW mentioned in another post and it brought to mind my experience hunting RFW ranches. The RFW program (for those who don't know) is a program that private ranches can get tags for most big game species. They can dispose of them as they see fit. In return for this privilege...

    One last gift

What a great gift. Your Dad would be pleased for sure. I lost my Dad 8 years ago and still miss him every day. Dad passed at 94 , we had so many great times together. My last hunt with him was when he was 90, I got him the last elk he killed. Never forget the joy we both got when we eating...

    State Funding for Wildlife

The current discussion about Wyoming's current desire to change the nonresident cost and availability of hunting permits for big game raises a question for all of us. My state of Colorado's position on funding for our Parks and Wildlife Department that it is a self funded organization and it...

2021 WY Bill for Tag Increases

I don't like the unlimited elk tags. I don't hunt 2nd or 3rd season for that reason and you are right about the quality of experience. We have already went from unlimited archery tags to drawing for them. Also not all elk units are unlimited. We have already cut the cow tags way back too.

The 1 Thing You Learned- Rifles

Welcome to the forum. First, I reload for everything except rimfire. I also hunt with all bolt actions, I have 6 of them . I learned a long time ago that no two guns are alike, even tho they are from the same mfgr and exactly the same model and caliber. They all shoot different and if you are...

2021 WY Bill for Tag Increases

I'll start by saying that I don't know much about the resident draw other than some of my friends who live in Wyoming. My perception is that Wyoming , with the least population of any state and the 80% of tags going to residents, is providing their hunters with tons of tags for elk, deer and...

    Favorite Autoloading Shotguns

None! Why....because I shoot left handed. S/A's eject across my face and I get powder, gas and whatever else in my face. Years ago I had a 20 ga M50 Winchester semi auto. It fired a shell before the action was totally closed and I got brass in my chin, nose and cheek. There is a piece still in...

2021 WY Bill for Tag Increases

As far as I am concerned Wyoming can do what they want with the tags you mention as I have never applied (or will apply in the future) for one of the species you mention. BUT.....I do hunt Elk, Deer and Antelope and have since 1980. I feel that the proposed fees for these species is an absolute...

    Why do you hunt?

When I first started hunting (at the age of 8), my Dad and Grandfather was the reason. They started me and taught me and it was an adventure for sure. Everything we brought home was table fare. As I grew older, it was to show I was growing up and getting to be a man. When I got married and...

2021 WY Bill for Tag Increases

I just got my new computer back from transfering all the data from my old one and have been out of touch for a week or so. Still need to digest what the increases are and how much. I only hunt deer & antelope there, so the projected increases for everything else won't effect me.

    Colorado Turkey Tags

Turkey hunting here in the SW part of Colorado is for the most part in the National Forest. It is a lot of work and requires a lot of scouting to find the birds. I usually look for a roost tree to begin with. The birds are always on the move looking for food and following the snow line as it...
