Last day skunk😀
Oh well cant win em all!
Gooseapalooza phase 3 complete.
Day and a half for laundry and rest then phase 4 a final week long push to the close of dark geese Colorado Feb 16th.
Big winds today. Tough shooting. Birds were decoying well but 45 degrees off the pit. Moved the hole a few times. Moved the larger feed group a few times. Just couldnt get them on one line consistently. Add in the wind and it was trial and error aiming upwind most of the time regardless of...
Lesson learned relearned. Replace the dang batteries in the diesel when the months of good operation is up. I tried getting some more out of them......2 degrees here yesterday.....and no start.
Walk to wally world.....only thing open that early.
Replace and in the pit by 1000. No flights in...
I got a Weston meat slicer on the way. Need to have a little higher production rate of the jerky and the cutting portion always took sonlong in the past.
Learn to use a diaphragm call. Cut it to fit your mouth. Bend the metal pallet plate if needed and try several different ones. Carltons and Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls would be my recommendation.
Ive never heard of that or read amything biological wise to support it. I think snow on the ground is the single deciding factor. If they cant eat, they will move.
Phase 2 began today. Lot more birds pushed in over the weekend to include a bunch of ducks and snows. Big flights were hard to decoy. We dropped another four for the soup pot. Ran a med spread this am then went huge this afternoon.
Elk brats for lunch in the pit
Keep after it all!! Starting phase 2 of Gooseapalooza tomorrow. Lots of bend downs to pick up decoys😀
I think I developed flagging arm as its sore in the elbow. Not even sure if thats a thing🤪
