Should have asked for a Warrant

That is my kind of sheriff. I wonder if Winchester thinks this sheriff is paranoid, has something to hide, or just plain wants to protect peoples' constitutional rights. We need more local sheriffs and LEO like him.

Should have asked for a Warrant

Not paranoid, never have been, never will be. Just want to be left alone as long as I live a decent life and don't break any laws. I have several LEO friends who have seen this video. They are appalled and sickened by it.

Should have asked for a Warrant

Again with the insults. That's what happens when you can't win an argument Winnie. The police were wrong. They had no legal right. Period! You want to make excuses for them until you are blue in the face and insult people. I don't whine, I call people out when they are wrong and infringe on...

Should have asked for a Warrant

I want the police to follow the letter of the law and proper protocol. Not the wishes of a curious commanding officer who thinks I bought too many guns last month.. Just because the police do or say something, does not always make them right. They are wrong many times. Just like the rest of us...

Should have asked for a Warrant

Winchester says ''this is a dead horse, so long" yet he still comes back and insults by insinuating that NV Hunter is paranoid as well as telling him he has poor grammar. These are tell tale signs that a person is frustrated because they are getting their butt whooped in a discussion. There is...

Should have asked for a Warrant

People conduct lots of their business with cell phones nowadays. Scanning documents, sending photos, signing contracts, etc.... Some court proceedings are done via satellite or cell nowadays. They could have had him take photos or have done face time with him showing them the serial numbers at...

Should have asked for a Warrant

The guy did nothing wrong. The police officer tells him he did nothing wrong several times. They are curious and want to see his guns. They have no grounds to get a warrant.

Should have asked for a Warrant

If they asked me, I would cooperate as well. I would tell them "yes, I still have possession of the guns". But I would not retrieve the guns from my safe to have to prove it to them. "nun of their biznez" The whole thing could have been handled by telephone. Do not need armed officers in BP...

Should have asked for a Warrant

Why would they be back with a warrant if you did nothing wrong. On what grounds would they be able to procure a warrant if you legally purchased your firearms. Police are not supposed to knock on peoples' doors and ask to see their guns. Especially if they did nothing wrong as the officer keeps...

Should have asked for a Warrant

I have no problem with the police or nothing to hide either. What I would have a problem with is......... Having to show my legally owned and purchased firearms to someone because they want to make sure I did not break the law. Bullcrap! The red flag should have happened at the purchase. Not...

Should have asked for a Warrant

Was it a couple of thousand rounds of .50 cal ammo? If so, I bet that was some kind of expensive.

Taping a barrel on a muzzleloader?

I usually keep duct tape on the end of my muzzleloader barrel during wet weather hunts. Masking tape will work as well. Like someone mentioned earlier. The tape is usually blown off by pressure without any bullet contact.

Okay I drew a tag in Elk Unit 45 in WY now what?

You are mistaken. I am not the OP. I was sticking up for the OP who was knocked for asking for advise/help. I think the OP said it quite well in a later post.“if you don’t have something nice to say then say nothing“ . If a newcomer can't come on and ask for help....than where can he go? I...

Okay I drew a tag in Elk Unit 45 in WY now what?

Not true at all. I have been on lots of sites including this one where people have been extremely courteous and helpful. However by the looks of this thread with your posts included things have changed for the worst around here.

    Walker Ranch?????

I did not draw after all. Looks like I am one point behind the point creep. I give up. As things look it will probably take me another 10 years to draw . After 29 years of points it is time to move on. I will cash my points in for a unit 61 muzzleloader hunt in 2023. I turned 60 last February...

Okay I drew a tag in Elk Unit 45 in WY now what?

I always thought this was a site where fellow hunters helped each other. Not where when you ask for help or advise you get nothing but snarky and rude feed back. Good luck with your hunt Rlshrumva. Hope you kill a big bull.

    Walker Ranch?????

Yes, I was going to apply for either an archery or muzzleloader tag this year.
